This episode merits a naughty word alert! Ah, you’re going to listen now, aren’t you?

Post your comments here on whether you think my straight-laced story Barry Takes a Step should be on the show.

The ‘fuck me’ at the end was a nice touch.

  2. Dana says:

Hilarious, though I’m pretty sure he’d be shooting for a neutron star. And yes. the fuck me at the end must go.

  3. Rani says:

‘fuck me at the end must go’????? NO WAY!!!

“Fuck me” made me laugh too hard while I was editing. I’m afraid I have to agree with Rani. (Shock!)

Okay, my comment has nothing to do with the outtake at the end of the podcast (which I will say was funny), but it pertains to something I was waiting for in the flash fiction, that never happened. Recall that the story involved trying to merge a red star and blue star in hopes of creating a purple star. When I heard this line, it reminded me of a sketch on an old “Two Ronnies” show (a Brit comedy program which StarShipSofa listeners will hopefully recognize.) I am paraphrasing the sketch, but it goes something like this. One of the Ronnies is a news reader, and gives the following bulletin: “Two ships in the North Sea have collided; one was carrying blue paint, and the other was carrying red paint. No news yet on the condition of the ships, but the crew are reported to be marooned.”

That’s a brilliant joke, Snard! I’m actually glad it didn’t occur to me since the Two Ronnies used it first. I wouldn’t want it to look like I was swiping their material. Thanks for listening.

  6. Other variant is possible also

Your use of profanity made me giggle in a girlish fashion. And I would Love a Purple sun. What would it do to my beloved Superman????? Hmmmm.????
